On Sunday, March 4th at 11:39pm, the Raymond Fire Department was dispatched to a Structure Fire at 623 Duryea Street.
The first Fire Units on scene reported the single-family dwelling fully involved, with flames threatening the home next door. Fire Crews were able to knock the fire down quickly and begin a search for a male who was reported to still be inside the home. Search crews located the subject inside the structure. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
There were no other fatalities or injuries.
Fire crews remained on scene for approximately 2 hours to fully extinguish the fire.
An investigation for the cause is being conducted by the Pacific County Fire Investigation Team, led by the Raymond Police Department and the Pacific County Sheriff’s Office.
